1974 mint produced needle fine detailed dies, a vast improvement over the badly cobbled 1973 dies. This one apparently clashed hard and a mint employee was bound and determined to remove clashing. Check out neck and scalp yites! Coin shows classic beautiful yellow brassy planchet shine typical for Philly and Denver the red is from cheap android did manage to get one showing the yellow. Ive had multiple unopened rolls of 1974 D seeded with 1974 S coins the 74 D's spectacular yellow all the 74 S dull grainy flat not same planchets. Love the 1974 D Lincolns needle sharp strikes.

Don't really see evidence of heavy die polishing in these pics.

Possible die polishing in the vicinity of Abe's neck.

I do see some Die Polishing going on on both sides. And agree nice strikes from what I can tell.

Very cool! A little more and you could have had a "floating head" Abe. I've got a couple of those somewhere....

Here is a pic I marked up from yontan's post next to a normal looking coin. Yours might be from the same die, the mm location is similar.

Pretty neat. I can see evidence of die polishing.
Errers and Varietys.

Pretty cool! Thanks for sharing!

There were a lot of 74 dies that had a lot of polishing going on. And Makecents compares LD with a SD.

makescents your right same die and the mm looks to confirm. Coinfrog check out the scalp part of it ground away flat. With android phone pics I'm cheating everyone sorry. In hand coin shows crazy heavy polish lines.

very nice die polishing, but it cannot be the same die as (mentioned above) one is a large date, and the other a small date. (look at the shape of the 9's. 0
