That's a cool find. =) Most of them time, these just look like Die Deterioration to me. This is probably the first time that I have looked at the splits and thickness in the lettering of a recent nickel and said, "Yup, that's for sure a DDR." Maybe some day, someone will finally be able to tell us how these happen on a single squeeze hubbing process.

About the MO: I see that the BVC Wexler listing doesn't mention that lettering. However, the distorted doubling is on the left side of the building, FIVE, and UNITED. The first letters of Monticello are right in the middle of that area, so it is completely plausible that they would display the same distortion as the other nearby devices. Perhaps the example that Brian examined had wear or damage to the MO. As you have pointed out, I can definitely see the "Tootsie Roll" distortion slanting left on the bottom of the M.

. Nice find. Nice catch on the M. Real nice pictures. There is a lot but ( sometimes ) it's necessary.

Great find! Much better looking and clearer than ones I've found. Many varieties of modern nickels require many photos unfortunately.

Good afternoon! Thank you Brandmeister, RobO411, Seeker_101, igwt79, coin rejector and Errers and Varietys for help me to confirm this is the WDDR-009 and that I'm right about de M and O of Monticello. Brandmeister, yes you right the strong distortion is on the left side, but if you see the image of cent you will see split in almost all the letters of cent, Of also has doubling, and the N and The M of UNUM have split on the bottom. And not sure yet but I believe I'm seeing small doubling on the top of I of America, or maybe not? Yes guys I'm sorry, I usually don't upload to many, but in this case was necessary as you said, because I want you to be able to see all the doubling and the split of this coin Thank you all for your reply I appreciate it!!
