I was digging through a large number of coins that were in 2x2 flips and I came across this coin, it's labeled lamination error. Is this a lamination issue or was this in a fire or exposed to heat at some point?

Hmm, I'm not really seeing a lam anywhere. Rather, I see circulation flattening on IGWT and a light scrape plus granularity on the rev.

It's a grand 'ole coin with an expected look for such extended circulation. Not seeing an obvious lamination on it.
Fire? Sandstorm? Lived in a Fountain for 10 years?

I agree with corrosion, see the green stuff on rev. in the middle? That is a good sign of being buried at some time.
