I got this token from my father a few years ago. This token is 17mm and weighs 2.55 grams. The token has an incuse design. Do you guys have an idea of where this was produced and possibly guess what the composition of this coin might be?

I suspect a private issue piece for the organization represented by the URL https://www.rockfordsystems.com

@ana, that central design element is consistent with the logo for the Rockford Systems located in Illinois. This company makes tag out/lock out equipment and systems that prevent a machine from being turned on while someone is working on it. It might be a privately-issued token as noted by @jbuck above, but I have a separate interpretation. Many companies that make these sorts of machinery put their logo on the equipment (sorta like how Mercedes does with their cars). Perhaps this piece was glued onto one of their pieces of equipment and subsequently fell off.

Any chance that your dad worked in a manufacturing factory as a machinist?

Ok good to know @ana. I wonder if his railroad uses any products from this company--or if it is completely unrelated to his work. This is an interesting find to be sure!

Hey guys, I found out that this is indeed a token. My father and everybody in his class got this token when they completed a machinery protection course by Rockford Systems. I made a numista page about this token. I plan to add the material once I find out.
It's not much at the moment, but here's the link if anybody's interested: https://en.numista.com/catalogue/ex...a454563.html
