@may, first welcome to CCF. Second, that looks like a nice example of a linear plating bubble to me.

Agree, just a long linear plating bubble.  to the CCF!

I've read a lot about all sorts of oddities in coin production, but this is the first time I've heard about bubbles

The " offset" is caused by a misaligned die but is still within spec. The line as stated is a linear plating bubble, quite common on post 1982 1/2 cents. No added value for either one.

 to CCF.  a linear plating bubble - basically there is zinc dust under the copper plating that is causing this bubble.
