Is the marking on this coin from the coin flipping in the die? It looks like the columns from the Lincoln Memorial building on the back printed on the front behind Lincoln's head, and you can see one coming up his neck and under his ear.

I don't have much experience and was curious if anyone agrees or what this could be on this coin. Also, is it common for the B to look like it does in liberty?

Anyone seen anything like this or could shed light on it?

to the CCF, Halfwayimp! Your coin has a die clash - nice find. Definitely a keeper.

Hondo Boguss has nailed it. Die clash cent.

When the Memorial building columns are really prominent behind Lincoln's profile the coin is sometimes referred to as a 'jailed Lincoln'.

Keeper for sure.

I agree, your coin show a die clash. Now in a better lighting you would be able to see the vertical Bars on both, the right and left sides of the profile.

Nice Die Clash. You should post pics of both sides of your coin, that would show what might
be happening on the other side of the coin.

Here's a clash overlay done in Photoshop. It shows about where clash marks can be expected.
