*** Edited by Staff to Add Year / Mintmark / Denomination to Title. It's essential to have it in the title. ***

Hi All!

I'm just a book filler coin roll hunter, but I found this one rehejected in a Coin Star. Oddity for sure, so I keep those just for kicks. My question with this though is if it is wear, mechanically altered, or a tru annealing error. Obviously it'll have wear due to the mint year (1967)
So, here are all the pics I can supply.
All oppinions are welcome. All sharable knowledge is welcome, since not every viewer will ask questions and may be looking for your answer!

I can try to take better pictures. Let me know if they suck. Sometimes you need 2 eyes.

@sni, first welcome to CCF. Second, your dime has been exposed to a corrosive environment, perhaps acid, which has preferentially removed copper from around the rim and caused the design elements to lose their detail.

Added: Please measure and post the weight. This dime should be very underweight.

to the CCF, Sniderman! Your coin is definitely damaged - specifically, it has been corroded by acid. The pitting of the surfaces and "cookie" appearance wherein the inner copper layer is shrunken are characteristic signs of a bad acid trip.
But keep looking - I've found some great things in Coinstar reject trays.

@Hondo Boguss

I suspected that since the inside seems narrower. Not surprising being in Big Oil Country. Lots and LOTS of chemicals here. Who knows where it has been?
