Hi All, I'd like to start by apologizing for the quality of these pictures! I've been struggling with lighting and phone quality and I just ordered a couple lights and a stand that should help with future pics. I found this dime while going through collection and it appears to be DD reverse (and possibly obverse?), but while inspecting it I found a odd almost half circle line printed around the letters "ONE" on the reverse side. Can someone please tell me what this is called? It looks like a hair on the dime but it definitely is stamped into the coin. Was there something in the die when stamped? Thanks as always!!

I'm not seeing any doubling with these images.
and that curved mark on the reverse could just be a scratch. Again, hard to tell

It is a little hard to tell with a softly-focused, upside-down picture, but it looks like a scratch to me as it seems to continue onto the rim. A nice close-up image would help to confirm.

Thanks dearborn!! I'm going to try and get some better pics as I know these are not good. The half circle line is raised in the metal and not scratched which I found very odd. What would cause this to be perfectly raised? I am new to this and not sure how to distinguish DD from other characteristics. To me (a huge newbie lol), it appears the flame on top of torch was doubled and on some lettering it appears doubled. Is this normal or something else? I've included another pic of what I'm looking at. Thanks again!

If something were on the die, it would not be raised. The amount of pressure would sink it into the coin. It looks to be a die crack. They are not usually so straight but can be. There also appears to be another die crack from the bottom of the first S in STATES to the bottom of the E. Can't tell about any doubling without closeup pics but I would hazard a guess that its Die Deterioration Doubling as the die seems to appear to be in a later die state.

Thanks for all the input! Yes looking at the coin in person and seeing the raised "half circle" it does look like a die crack. Would there be any value to this coin? If it was a double die with the die crack any gueses on value? Assuming nothing substantial but worth asking lol

No doubling as far as I can see. Better pictures would help greatly.
