Looking for info on this 1995 dime. It all looks normal except for the bird looking mark in the sky by the sail. When I looked up these dimes I couldn't find a single one with this mark. Has anyone seen this before?

To CCF! Hard to tell with the current photo, but it could be a Die Chip or just damage from PMD. Need better photos to tell. Is it raised or incuse?

to the CCF

Not a bird. Is it raised or incuse?
If it is raised, then it is probably a die chip.
If it is incuse, then it is damage.
In either case there is no added premium.

Someone, on this site or another, posted a similar coin and it looked like a cloud. And, I think, that's what he named it ... a cloud in the sky over the Bluenose. Try an archive search on the or CaC or similar site.

Here's the link: http://coinsandcanada.com/forum/vie...9497a956fea8

This is really odd. Two different coins with the same RAISED mark in the sky. I still think it looks like a cloud.

It might be struck over a metal fragment and the fragment fell out. Is it inscured with raggy jagged edges. This 2008 the fragment stayed imbedded and the best example for you to compare it to.

Thanks! It is raised. I will check out the archived to try and find the cloud in the sky dime. That is odd that two would have similar marks like that.
It does look like a cloud!

Not odd at all, if it is a die chip, there could be hundreds or even thousands the same. It would depend on when the Chip occurred on the die during the striking of the coins.

Since SP5335 said it's raised, it's probably a Die Chip.
