I ran across a very interesting reverse on this 1985 Lincoln. There is a very distinct diagonal bar running across the space between pillars 3 and four. Additionally, there are 3 parallel diagonal images following pillars 10, 11, and 12. These don't appear to be scratches, as they do not cross onto the pillars themselves. I've searched all of the online varieties websites, and found nothing like this listed for a 1985. Any thoughts on this? These are the best pics I ould take with of the coin:

These are super-fuzzy pics @cas, but I know you are trying.
Raised lines could be linear plating bubbles. Can you depress them with the tip of a wooden toothpick?

Could be Die Clash remnants. Clearer photos would help.

Sadly, these are the clearest photos I could get after trying multiple lighting setups using a cel phone. Also tried using a printer scanner. I don't have a good digital camera that would have a macro feature.
That anomaly at pillars 3-4 is definitely solid metal that exhibits rounding at the top. The parallel lines are much less defined, but have a slightly raised appearance when viewed under a microscope at 25x. I would be inclined to agree with the die clash theory, but that would constitute more of an image of Lincoln's head from the obverse die.
I'll definitely hold onto this country for further study.

That should be 'coin', not 'country'. Stupid auto-fill....

Quote: That diagonal line on the left side between the pillars does match the overlay for a die clash Good catch and thank you for the link.

If you have raised metal in the "windows" between the pillars that usually is indicative of a clash.

looks like a die clash to me, especially the one in bay 3 - the other stuff getting pointed at is way to fuzzy to tell anything.

I finally managed to get a very clear image of the lines between the pillars... I managed this by aiming my cel phone through one of the eyepieces of my microscope !!! Magnification is 50x. The three parallel lines are easily visible with the one between pillars 10 and 11 being the most prominent. I think that might be yet another line just west of pillar 10, bisecting the black discoloration spot.
