Wicked Stepmother here is a scientific explanation. First of all those are not marks on the coin. The rim is missing metal and strike through is insured on the Queen. If you look at the science of the pictures I posted it says alot of what happened to this coin. The break was smooth so there was very little bond (note the Zinc is exposed) with that piece of metal. When it entered the chamber with a little vibration (normal) it fell off not broke off and landed on top of the Queen. Then the die hit it and insured the rim piece over the Queen. As the coin ejected the rim piece fell out at some time. I want you to look how smooth the rim piece edge is and how smooth it insured strike through edge over the queen is. A perfect match!! Also I did a micro measurement and each a 50 increment's but the queens is a tad bigger and thats normal. The shoe fits over the foot here with a perfect fit and thats why I called it the Cinderella coin. These kinda Princess errors are very scarce!!
