Out of the box of improperly stored coins from my aunt were 4 Peace dollar coins. Two were 1928 P!

I soaked in acetone overnight, twice as it was quite gunky - as you can see by the light circle near rim on obverse & reverse.

I believe this is Die 1 but see no VAMs

This coin has a die crack on the lower left of the bust, like coin 1 has.

Estimated grade?

Thank you!!!

I'll guess AU for the grade.

Images are way too small to be able to say anything with confidence.

Pics too small for accurate grading. Can only go with higher AU

to The Community!

Kudos to your Aunt for saving this!

Looks 60/61'ish to me.

Best bet is to quit messing with it and send it in for professional conservation and grading. That would be your best chance to get a TPG straight grade.

Nice coin no matter what it grades!

I'm also goin with low MS. I think it would be better than 60 so I'm thinking MS61/2. might be worth conserving this one even if it details but it might have a shot at straight especially if its conserved

I'd have this one at AU-53, maybe 55.
