Definitely a legitimate Clip, nice find! You can see the Blakesley effect too.

I don't like how the rim terminates on the left side of the clip and the Blakesley effect looks like damage to me...

I don't know. Almost looks like the "clip" is a bit small radius wise. See if another cent fits into that curved clip precisely.
