Tremendous Die Deterioration on this 1954-S nickel. All features have a melted wax look under magnification. The gleam from the surface is dazzling. However, I am fairly confident that this is a specimen of FS-801, with the crazy steps amid the NT of Monticello.

Thanks, guys. =)

This was an ebay cherry-pick, sold as an ordinary BU nickel.

Well, the main steps are buried in snow, and the drifts have piled up around Five Cents. But good news: the crooked set of doubled steps appears to be Full Steps!
