If I was going to buy the coin, then I would require it be slabbed. I am not trying to put together that set so I don't want to purchase it. Why would you not get it slabbed since you are trying to sell it? You will get what you pay to get it slabbed back out of it, and maybe more? How does a buyer know it is Genuine? You might know it is Genuine, but they might not.
A coin dealer tried to sell me a 1916d
Mercury dime for $900 that was likely F-12. It wasn't slabbed. Why in the world would someone sell a very popular key date so far below market value? Slabbed it would get around twice his asking price. Something wasn't right.
