1958-D-Penny-Wheat-Penny-Reverse


Hi All, I just found this 1958 D Penny with this imperfection and would like help to determine what could happen with this coin, it looks original to me . All comments are appreciated.

Looks like glue/clear substance on your coin

Not original, There is no way your CENT left the mint looking like that.
It appears there is something on the coin. Whatever it is it is considered damage.

To CCF! It's dried glue that protected that area from circulation wear and toning. It's not an error. Giving it a soak in 100% pure acetone should remove it.

This is metal, no glue, I Agree its damaged but definite not a glue.

A lot of coins ended up glued or taped into the old blue coin folders when they started falling out.
