I think JBuck deserves a topic for us to post our JBuck inspired collections for him to see :) I'm a type collector and originally I had a single 1971 Ike dollar but after reading about his collection I decided to expand it a little If you have a collection of Ikes, big or small I'm sure JBuck would appreciate if you posted it My Ike dollars My Presidents Page Edited by Boba Debt 03/30/2025 11:08 pm

Do like the 'toning' of the bicentennial Ike. I have a couple dozen squirrelled away which have similar coloration--all pulled from US Mint uncirculated sets.

I love looking at other members collections and how they organize them
Plus I always learn something new
I always thought all 71-74 Ikes were 40% silver and know I know that some were clad
I wonder how hard it is the get a 1976-D Type 1 from circulation?
I also love how Dearborn filled that las 2 slots with the commemorative dollars
But I don't know what makes the 72 special

In 1972, the Eisenhower dollar came in three distinct reverse types (Type 1, Type 2, and Type 3), distinguished by the depiction of the Earth in the background, with Type 2 being the rarest. Here's a breakdown of each type: Type 1: Features the Earth with three islands falling to the right of Florida. Type 2: Has a flattened Earth with little relief on North and South America, and instead of islands, incuse water lines hint at their appearance. This type is also known as the "Proof" reverse and is considered the rarest. Type 3: Can be distinguished by the islands falling directly below Florida.
