NGC - Coin of the Day: For Toner Tuesday, here is an Italy (1189-1260) Florence 12 Denari graded NGC MS 64 showing St. John the Baptist. Today is the day many Christians around the world celebrate his birth.

Beautiful. These early fiorini come up often in nice grade, but nothing like that!

I think the attribution is MIR 41, and the currently accepted date just a bit later, 1267-1279. https://www.acsearch.info/search.html?id=10132234
(there are a lot of subtypes).
