I recently acquired around 500 1888s I know of the bead punched 8 and the various repunched 8s, as well as clashes
And if I remember I think it was hounddog Bill did a study on them. If you're still active I'd love to hear from you for things to look for

I sold about 100 of the 1888s to Dr. Haxby about 15 years ago, all in Fine to EF condition. I have a few varieties in my collection. I'll pull them out and catalogue them.

I'm sitting on hundreds of 1888's. I know Hounddog Bill has been working this date. I'm really looking forward to solid reference material from him to run my 1888's against.
