Would appreciate any thoughts on the grade of this 1885-O Morgan dollar. Thanks in advance.

It's not bad but light over the ear with some slight cheek marks and fingerprint on reverse - I think 64 is the max on this coin!

Looks AU58 and possibly cleaned to me.

That makes sense and definitely light above the ear. Too bad about the fingerprint, too! Otherwise it's pretty nice in-hand.

I'll guess MS-64.
Errers and Varietys.

The rub above the ear and on the cheek look like wear to me. There may be light wear on the eagle's breast feathers as well, hard to tell from the pics.

From those pics I'll go MS63. It could have a couple rubs but the overall appearance likely puts in an MS holder (if graded). Nice common date pre-'21 Morgan.

Looks like a decent toning to me. Am I wrong ? Also Morgan reverses really appeal to me. They seem to strike out much better.

58 as the cheek looks rubbed. Attractive looking and well struck for the date/mm.

Same page club NuStu. Nice strong strike that shows the slight wear more easily. I could be wrong, but I'd rather be wrong up than down.

Thanks to all for the comments and insight. Much appreciated.
I have to admit that this coin and the 1878-S Morgan (just posted separately) were my first actual purchases after inheriting a large collection and learning (slowly) over the past few years, mostly from the CCF community. Overall, I'm pretty happy with the coins! Although I did think this 1885-O was uncirculated when I got it, it still looks nice with some subtle toning toward edges.
Anyway, thanks again everyone.

Thanks for that suggestion. I'll try that paper test as you suggest. In the meantime, here is just one more photo showing the cheek and above the ear in different light.

Slider since cheek exhibits signs of rub. I'll say AU-58 to be safe.
