picture a little blurry but I would say its a Close AM judging by the gap between ME

Hi,
Comparing the distance of AM to ME, I think this is a normal Close AM.
One way to tell is the Wide AM variety has much more equal spacing on both sides of the M.

Welcome to the forum.

Sorry, that is not a Wide AM. One easy way to tell is to look at the spacing between the "M" and the "E"...on the Close AM (your coin), the "ME" is spaced further apart than the rest of "MERICA".

thanks guys...i normally look at the innitals but could not tell on this coin.

another question how many boxes does it normally take to find a Wide AM?

there is no set amount of boxes to look through to find a Wide AM. I've found 3 at a time before and many boxes without any. just luck of the draw. later greg
