1976-D Eisenhower Dollar - Possible Error On E Pluribus Unum?

HedgehogGames00 New Member United States 5 Posts	Posted 05/30/2025 5:54 pm I opened up a roll of dollar coins and this guy was inside. All the coins are the same year/mint mark, so I'm sure they're uncirculated. The phrase "E Pluribus Unum" is missing half the letters, but the rest of the coin is in great condition so I know it can't be wear. This is my first error coin, so sorry if this is nothing noteworthy. Any help would be appreciated! Report this Post to the Staff

The coin looks to have been lightly (very lightly...) circulated--some dings hits and rubs; fingerprint under Ike's chin perhaps. The area in question appears to be a case of gritty grease accumulated on the reverse die. It's quite possible that a collector rolled these coins (same year and mint) as part of a collection dump.
