It's been a long time since I found this coin, but I didn't know where I had kept it, but I was able to find last week.

I know it is RPM 005, I'm sure its not stage A because the doubled die reverse that show the stage A this coin doesn't have it. Still, you can see that there is something there, no as stage A but definitely is there, so I believe is stage B. Well that is what my eyes see and what I want believe whats your thoughts?

Excellent find, gigi! I cannot tell if it's the DDR or not, pretty heavy flow lines though for an early stage. What you are pointing out at the base of the N looks like a crack, not a split. Is that what you thought it might be?

@Makecents Yes, it is. I'm attaching 2 images both have a image from VV and mine to compare. VV coin is show Stage A with a nice split, and my is not as goog as the state A, thats why I believe I have state B. What do you think?

Here are some information from VV and Coppercoins.com:

Quote:
VV says this:
Comments: D/D South. Stage A Reverse is LISTED as DDR-002.

http://varietyvista.com/02b%20LC%20...4DRPM005.htm

Coppercoins.com says:
In earlier die states this repunched mintmark shows a strong lower extra punching, and also has a nice class 2 doubled die reverse. In later die states the lower punching disappears. Values indicated for this repunched mintmark are for the later die states that do not show the lower portion of the secondary mintmark. Earlier die states that do show this punching are substantially more valuable.

Nice RPM! I too am having trouble seeing the DDR but it does look right.

I believe you are correct with stage B, but as I have explained, not the DDR. The DDR is only paired with the RPM in stage A, the reverse was changed out when you get to stage B. Always look at the "Chart" at the bottom of VV's page.

ADDED PICS: The DDR is the type 2 distended doubling, it's on the outer perimeter of the letters. I marked up VV's stage A doubling below.

Ohh I didn't read that, my bad! Thank you makecents, now I understand, but glad I got state B, coppercoins.com says that the earlier stage is more valuable than the later stage
