The first year of issue 1881 is the key date in the Argentina 5-peso gold piece series, with a mintage of 37,000 according to Krause. Like the 20-centavo piece I posted earlier, this coin contains the same amount of precious metal as an equivalent US coin (the $5 gold piece).
I grade this in the range of AU-58 to MS-62; it's either a lightly-circulated coin with nearly full luster or a BU coin with enough bag marks to disqualify it from a higher grade. Either way, it's purty!
