Quote: The U.S. Mint also plans to offer companion silver medals to the five gold coins. I want this as a set. I do not want to have to buy them one, by one...

Quote: except the flowing hair dollar turned out so good. I True. At least the original Flowing Hair design was used on a Silver Dollar, so a much stronger connection.

Quote: I would have loved two 2026 proof or unc sets made with 1926 and 1826 designs (like the 1908-1998 Canada). Oh, that would be nice! Quote: Or imagine those sets in gold. Nah, I will stick with the Ag.

I do have the 2017, 2019 and subsequent silver medals for this series, so the 2025 issue would seem to be the next in line, in spite of the insane premiums charged.
The so-called special coins in 2026? Not likely, I do not have an interest in high-priced remakes. I did not buy the ones from 2016, so no need for a course correction in 2026. I will stick with the real Winged Head Liberty dimes and Walking Liberty half-dollars.

The 2026 silver issues will be within my budget though, so I have them on my list.

I will be getting one as usual. I like the Eagle design on the reverse.

I hate to burst everyones bubble about 2026 "Best of" but they released the contenders for those coins July 2024 https://www.ccac.gov/system/files/m...24-06-20.pdf. The current US Mint CCAC is messed up and not really easier way to look up newer design coins. But oh well. I said this about this program last year Quote: Until I look at the "designs" of the Best Of... let's just say it's not a close or remotely close to Best of minting. Just a modern take of those coins... some of them are like how? They will be really weird as 1 oz silver rounds on some of them.

Thank your for sharing that. This was unknown to me, or I had simply forgotten it. I also fixed your link. The forum software does not like parentheses around them.

I do like some of the quarter designs - use them for the circulating quarter. I have little interest in these at this point. Another swing and miss by the mint.

Well my biggest issue is that they were not taking a reprint of those coins (biggest would be 1804 dollar and the Saint Gaudens medal) but instead was doing a "reinterpretation" at best. For example, These potential OB/Rev doesn't scream like the original or even close. its a shame. One of the options is a BOAT. how does one get a boat from a 1804 dollar?! So much potential (even when you blow up the dime, quarter, half dollar up to dollar size) But these new designs really ruined my WANT for next years coins. Then again, Final design may change that. BTW I revived the old topic and posted ALL designs for each into that topic to keep this topic separately

Seems like the gold coin will be an original representation with a 250 privy mark. The silver medal will be the modern interpretation, https://www.usmint.gov/coins/coin-p...ncentennial/ The mint is sharing designs, one per month, starting with the Mercury dime. See the mint website link for images (another non-FSB gold coin ) 2026 "Best of the Mint" Numismatic Products Last year, the U.S. Mint engaged Americans through a public input survey to vote for their favorite historic coins struck throughout our Nation's history. The five top-rated coins were reviewed and recommended by the Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee (CCAC) and U.S. Commission of Fine Arts (CFA) with final selections approved by the Secretary of the Treasury. In addition to releasing newly designed circulating coins in 2026, the U.S. Mint will issue five special Best of the Mint numismatic coin and medal sets as part of this journey through history. These five special sets will include 24-karat 99.99% fine gold coins reissued as faithful representations of the historic designs with the original dates of issue to acknowledge each coin's place in history. The coins will also bear a special Semiquincentennial Liberty Bell privy mark with the numeral "250." Each coin will also have a 1 oz. silver companion medal, featuring new and modern designs, inspired by the 24-karat gold coins. Stay tuned as we plan to reveal one new design in our 2026 Best of the Mint series each month starting July 4, 2025.

Would that mean since its in a "set" that you have to buy the gold coin to get the silver medal? I am disappointed with the faithful being behind the gold paywall. I wanted a modern 1804 dollar for the design.

I **think** you can get the silver separately - but the silver is the modern interpretation of the design that you showed above. To get an original 1804 dollar design, I believe you will need to get the gold version.
