The Mint has published an on-sale date for the next issue in the American Liberty silver medal series: August 21st. https://www.usmint.gov/american-lib...al-25DB.html( The Laser Beam Privy ASE goes on sale the day before, so I'll get to savor the USM "virtual waiting room" experience on consecutive days. . . ) " Even a clock that's stopped is right twice a day. Interesting piece, cptbilly. I like the designs, but I've given up on the medals - especially at that price.
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

I really like that design! I will be getting one. I have to get them all. Easy for me, not needing to buy all the ASE at the same time as others may.

BUT I just checked out the design and it is indeed outstanding IMO... I may have to revise my position. dangit

@Morgans Dad, wait until you see the prices for next year's offerings, especially all the gold. What's an 1804 gold dollar 1 oz going to cost?

Quote: What's an 1804 gold dollar 1 oz going to cost? It doesn't matter to me - I'm not interested in the Mint's fantasy re-strikes. The first US gold dollar was struck/issued in 1849. An 1804 gold dollar makes little sense to me - especially considering its different design, different size, different weight, etc. vs. the original gold dollars.

If they did the Liberty silver medal in high relief, it might tempt me. It loses a lot of appeal without the high relief. If they do another classic silver coin/medal, I'd probably line up for it. I did nab a edit Flowing Hair last year. Not a lot of wiggle room in the budget right now though.

I don't disagree with you, except the flowing hair dollar turned out so good. I would have loved two 2026 proof or unc sets made with 1926 and 1826 designs (like the 1908-1998 Canada). Or imagine those sets in gold.
