1st off I am sorry if this is in the wrong forum, I could not find a better place to post it. I just received (3) 1943 steel cents, listed as uncirculated BU in all (3) mintages. After receiving them I know wonder if they have been replated. The details and die scratches seem muted or are missing. Kind of a homogonous, even background. Please take a look at the pictures and tell me what you think. The edges of the coins seem to be zinc coated as well. Thanks for your help.

With the images posted, I'm thinking post-mint plated.

Yes, replated. An original steel cent will show exposed steel on the edge.

They sure do look replated to me. I'd get your money back, if you bought them.

Looking at the edge, the surface is the same as the
Obverse and Reverse so it is plated. On a genuine coin
you can see the steel core sandwitched between the layers of zinc.

the edge image clinches it - the edge never had any zinc on it as the stock plate was coated first then the blanks were punched out (hence no zinc coating)
