I found this coin last week and have been looking at various sites to confirm this possible DDO. I found nothing anywhere even close to this. Can you guys please help? What makes me think this is a DDO is the extreme extra thickness on the vertical parts of the 9 and 7 in the date. There are other areas of doubling as well. I am assuming at this point as I am relatively new at this that because I have found nothing to confirm that this must be Machine Doubling. Can I please get your assessments on this coin? Thanks!

I know--wait until @fsd finds our medieval and ancients subforum! Or are you saying that 1974 was a great year to be in high school?

The extra thickness you're seeing is due to your coin being a Large Date. https://www.lincolncentresource.com...es/1974.html

Thanks Coin Rejector! I was unaware that there were large and small dates in that year. Thanks for the information.

I'm just saying when you hear 1974 it doesn't seem like that was 51 years ago........
