I won this 1910 Lincoln Cent on ebay for $5.00 in an auction where no one else bid. From the seller's photos, I wasn't sure what I'd receive. When the coin arrived I was thrilled to see it.

Your grading thoughts are welcome.

Here are the seller's photos. The dark spots in his photos don't appear on the coin when held in hand.

I'll guess high AU or low MS. Might be a details coin. It doesn't look right.

I like it.

Very interesting. The second set of photos seem (seem...) to hint at a cleaning. Would love to see the coin in-hand.

If in hand it looks like your pictures, nice score! Seller made a big photography mistake and exposed the smallest spots and flaws. Easy for a noob to do with the lighting alone. Mentally combining both pictures for a grade.

Considering the devices are largely devoid of any major hits (and the coin in general), the rims don't show signs of circulation, and I can see indications of nice luster.....pretty solid MS-63RD.

I would run this coin through 24 hours soaks using the polarity ladder. I see a trace of a fingerprint below AMERICA that should at least be treated as best as possible. It will also help with removing any light surface dirt, the coin is 115 years old. It will not harm the coin to run a light conservation.

After that put it into an airtite - that's a nice example, congrats!

I'd think 63 is the right grade. A very good buy for $5!

Thanks for the responses so far. I was personally thinking it was around MS-63. It looks original in hand, with a bit of color (very light green and blue) on the reverse.

I like to look for photos, which aren't very good, that may be hiding an nicer coin. Sometimes I win at playing this game and sometimes I lose.

What is the real color of the coin? Hard to tell from both sets of photos.
