1941 P ( DDO) FS-101 ... I cried when I found this one.
There was an older gentleman at our last coin club meeting that had 10 rolls of wheats that he had put into rolls and numbered 1-10. He had a list of the dates (40's) in each roll. I purchased the 10 rolls.
As he explained it to me, he used to have a vending company, and he still has a metal box full of coins from when he ran his business! Now that really got my attention. I plan on connecting with him at the next meeting to see about the metal box full of coins!

This coin came out of the first roll and is the first of this variety I have found. There was a lot of gunk on the coin and poor lighting combined to make me wonder if it was a variety at first or just MD. I adjusted the light, got my better loupe, and looked close. The width of the last "T" on TRUST told me I had a variety but TRUST was also what made me cry. It had a coin wrapping Ring of Death damaging TRUST!
Anyways, it is a fun find and a hole filler for my 1941

Strange it only affected the word TRUST.
Maybe it was vending machine damage if he owned a vending company.
Still a nice find in any case.

Most people would not care about the minor damage, it is a nice coin to have.

It's always easier to find another when you've already found one. Congrats, it's an interesting DDO. =)

ooooh! Stage B coins are fantastic finds. The doubling is much more dramatic on Stages A and B than on heavily circulated Stage C coins. Very nice find!
