I received this 2024 D Lincoln Cent today in change. After returning home and using some magnification, I noticed the raised line at Lincoln's mouth. I first figured it was common bag marks, but then noticed how the line was raised. Has anyone else noticed other 2024 D with the same mark? And does this appear to be a Die Gouge?

If raised, it could be a die gouge or a linear plating bubble.

Looks raised to me. @igor, can you try to depress that linear mark with the tip of a wooden toothpick please? Thx.

It is definitely raised as I had said in the original post. Zooming into the close-up photo makes seeing the raised feature a little easier.

A bunch more photos at different angles and different lighting. There is a damage mark just above the bowtie and on Lincoln's chin for comparison.

@Spence The toothpick ends break off when pushing down or sliding over the raised mark and zero change to the raised mark. I'm assuming that rules out a gas bubble?

It doesn't rule it out as I have never been able to depress a "gas bubble" with a toothpick every time I tried - I actually gave up and chalked it up to being an "Old wives tale"
But yours kinda looks more like a die scrape than a plating bubble because of the way it feathers out to a point at the end. (Just my opinion)

Pretty sure this is a die gouge. I saw the same thing on another forum
and they had a fancy name for it "Abe smoking a cigarette"
or something like that. I'm sure there would be others around.

Thank you for all the replies. I'll do a little more research and see if I can find another 2024 D with the same detail on another forum.
