Im struggling with this coin. There is some suspect scratches on the obverse (I always try to get pictures that show the coin with as many scratches possible because it's easy to avoid capturing scratches at all in a photo) Coin is in really good condition, minimal if any wear, awesome luster (in person) but some of the scratches throw me off. I have multiple 78s and this one looks the best but I dunno. Thoughts?

I'd say AU Details - Cleaned

To my eye based on a static photo it looks either wiped or over dipped a long time ago.

Thanks for the thought Weston, I appreciate it. In hand the luster is strong with solid cartwheeling.

typical stronger strike for this year. tough to call surfaces as the glare is too much. do not use overhead light that strong as it just washes thing out. I know you were trying to show all the marks. what you could do is slightly tilt the coin which would deflect some of the glare. give it a try

i think there are too many marks on both sides to place her in the 64 box, and its a quite a bit better than a 62 so that leaves only one grade. I can see why westcoin might call cleaned on this one, but I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt that its the glare from lighting obscuring the surfaces

MS63 - disclaimer: if all the luster is gone i'd say it may have been lightly cleaned but not enough to details the coin

Looks like an AU-58 slider to me.
