I recently purchased this Half Cent in an auction. I don't know if it has been cleaned, but it has a lot of luster. I would appreciate to know what grade it would carry.

This is the 13-star variety which is more common than the 12-star version.
Looks like there is light wear on the reverse wreath and on Liberty's hair above the eye. There is a small gash on B in LIBERTY. These photos show color which does not look original so I'd suspect some kind of cleaning or altered surface problem.

AU details overall. Hopefully you got it at a good price.

AU details (cleaned) clean/shiny

the lighting in your photos is not even across the coin on both sides. the sharpness of your photos is good. grading from photos is not easy as there are so many components that can hide surfaces, color, marks etc. the best place to look on your coin is the fields on both sides of OF on the rev. notice how dull that areas is. there are other indicators that the coin was cleaned, but thats the best location to see it based on your lighting. the entire rev appears dull and lifeless another indicator. next all of the high points of the leaves have circulation wear. you can also see wear on the cheek and bust, thus the AU grade

Yes it has brightness suggesting a cleaning but that may also be your lighting.
I do have a concern re the mark near the S in 'STATES'... possible gouge?
I grade it at XF45.

From the photos, the surfaces are original, some circulation wear and marks. I could see a TPG putting this anywhere from XF45 details to AU straight.
If I was buying, I'd only pay an XF45 details price.

Thanks to all for the feedback. I purchased it in an auction for $57, so I think I did ok.

maybe if you let her sit on a window sill for a while you might get her to tone over. when I say a little while, I mean like a year. if you do that repost it showing both the original and after you do that. its worth a shot as the coin was not cleaned harshly with anything, it was just chemically treated or something similar that removed the original surfaces.
