I'm looking for pages, besides ebay, that sell coinage and currency from the 1st 1/2 of the 20'th century of the collaborator states of Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, Bulgaria, and Croatia. Included would be the various factions inside Ukraine, the Baltic states, and Yugoslavia, that either assisted the fascist cause, often with great energy and cruelty, but it was the first five that officially joined the Axis. Of course Romania became an all important supplier of oil ad coal to the Axis cause.

So it wasn't just Germany, Italy, and Japan that made up the fascist Axis powers. Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, and Bulgaria, signed the Tripartite pact and provided troop formations for the eastern front.

Anyway I'm having trouble location coins and currency from these troubled places and times. Ive considered using Yanks coins to finish my display since it was our Heroes that helped strike these monsters down but I really want to keep the display European. Thanks for any help.

@sil, how about vcoins? You could also look in Frank Robinson's auctions that focus on world coins.

Thanks. Ive checked them out and they have beautiful coinage. Actually NumisCorner.com has a spectacular selection of exactly what I want.

Let me ask you fellas this and tell me what you think. American and GB were heavily involved in the war. For two years GB stood alone against the darkness. Dont you think their coins, and Yank ones, should be displayed too ?

I dont want the wall to be just about pointing fingers. I want the Heros honored as well and I have no problem spending the money to do so. Most of all since I already have Yank and Brit money from that period.

So what do you think ? Let me know please.

The best thing is that since it is your collection, you get to pick what to include and how to present it. Since you asked for my opinion, I think that including coins from both sides of the conflict makes a lot of sense. Of course, then what to do about regions like Vichy France? Even with including all participants, this seems like a pretty doable project.

Silverskunk, it's your creation - feel free to allow your creative side to express itself.

NumisCorner.com

Before buying a coin from them - especially an expensive one - ask them to verify that the coin in hand is truly represented by the pictures posted. I've bought from NumisCorner / Comptoir des Monnaies several times. Every time, I've found that their pictures were very ambitious "glamour shots" that hid flaws in the coin. I recently had to return one because the picture was deceptive and duplicitous - one of the very few times I've had to return a coin. At least first class mail to France is fairly cheap to return coins.

Silverskunk, I'll check through my holdings to see if there are any that might meet your needs.
I have a few from each of these (except Croatia) during WWII, as well as Bohemia and Moravia. It depends on exactly what you're looking for.

Thanks for the replys guys. I already have a coin set displayed for the evil Vichy France. Their level of collaboration was indeed evil, the Police forces of Vichy rounded up their Jewish citizens with a connivance that will forever stain French honor.

I guess I even wanted opinions if I wanted our Hero's to even be mixed in with these murderers and Ive already answer my question. That answer being no.

If anything I will make a separate display on a separate wall. I already have several honorary coins in mind to go along with the numismatics and maybe some mini allied flags. I will find a way to honor the Free French forces, the Canadians, the free Norwegians and Netherlands, the Chinese, the Aussie's, and of course our British cousins.

A huge project in itself.

If you haven't already, you might check out collectorscorner.com as they have listings from a large number of different dealers. In their advanced search you can put in a date range to narrow down the number of listings.
