I would like opinions on the value of this dime. No ridges on edge, "pride" and french "fierte" missing, Ni on obverse.

Not a dime.
No such coin was issued.
Possibly a test token?
What is the weight and diameter?

That design was used on the 2000 January Pride 25c. Nothing in Charlton about it.

Still not sure what this is. Sorry, I am not a collector. My father recently passed away and I found this in his loose change. Same design as on the January Pride quarter, but smaller scale.

It may be some sort of unlisted test token.
It has the RCM Logo and NI which stands for nickel.
Hard to give a value when there is no information on it.

I see that you are in Kitchener, you could also take
it to Colonial Acres Coins on Victoria Street North
and see if they could help.

Lapel pin

Does it stick to a magnet or is it sterling silver as claimed in the listing?

It's not going to be silver; both the OP's piece and the one on ebay clearly say "Ni" for Nickel. The Mint wouldn't make it out of silver and then put "Ni" on the back.

Thank you all for the opinions and the advice! It looks a lot like the lapel pin, but the pin part was never attached. It is magnetic, not sterling silver. The image on the ebay listing also has the Ni for nickel, so it is probably the same thing. Thanks again!

@squeeziepants - I think the post was originally there but then broken off / removed. One can see the circular base on the reverse.
