Trying to figure out what these marks on the edge of the obv/rev rim are? Since they don't run into the face of the coin, is where I am getting confused. Thanks...

Not chop marks, they were primarily on Trade dollars.
It is damage of some sort, doesn't really matter the cause, damage is damage.

Did it come from a Mint uncirculated set? That looks like the damage people describe as coming from the cellophane sealing machine.

It does look like cello crimping sealer damage.

Agree--not chop marks. Appear to be damage caused through a mechanical process. Have seen very similar on coins in mint cello packaging.
