Folks, I am new here; this is my first post, and I know next to nothing about coin ID and valuation.

I lost both parents and inherited some coins. This is from a Liberty Dollar. What type is this? Thanks!

I'm going to guess this is an Eisenhower dollar, minted in the 1970s, and you're showing us the representation of Earth from space.

Best practice is to show the entire coin, both sides, then zoom into any features of interest.

Welcome!

Also, condolences on your losses, and feel free to run any other coin images by us, one coin per thread.

Someone like @jbuck should be able to tell you if this is a Type I, II, or III, based on the Earth.

I'm thinking maybe Type III, but it's hard to tell from the image provided.

Condolences on your losses.

A pic with better lighting would really help. It is not Type II.

I am leaning towards Type III with the lower small island to the left being more triangle shaped than in the Type I. In your photo the area below florida is merging the island below it so details are hard to see.

to the Community!

This is indeed a variety 3 reverse, but the three varieties are only important on the 1972 Philadelphia Ike.

to CCF.

Can you please give us the date and mint of this coin? We'll update the title to include that information.
