I'm thrilled that the Royal Canadian Mint selected our Manitoba Museum as the place to unveil the new Canadian $2 circulation coin honouring Daphne Odjig, an amazing and inspirational Indigenous artist. The ceremony was held in front of the mural she painted at the museum in the early 1970s, which holds a place of honour in the entryway to the museum. I was among the first group who was able to exchange $10 for five of these beautiful coins! Unfortunately our data loss policies at work prevent me from uploading a photo right now...but will see if I can make it work from my phone later! |
