I am not sure what phenomenon is demonstrated on the reverse of this 2016-P nickel. The parallel lines seem like they might represent a trail die, but I suppose it's also possible that these are feeder finger gouges or some other form of die gouges. The features seem restricted to the surface of the die, meaning they run underneath raised devices.
As with the 2013 nickel thread, I think you guys are right. I re-read the study on Feeder Finger Damage, and on page 36 there is an example that looks just like this coin. Thanks for the help. =)
