Hello eveyone,

So I think I'm starting to recognize the difference between Machine Doubling and Double Die but I could use more experienced eyes.

I would appreciate your opinions and insight.

Thank you

I'd say machine doubled (MD)
As others have pointed out to me: MD will look "shelf like" - the doubling is a lower, flat mirroring.
A doubled die will be raised.
In your pics, the G, especially, shows the MD very well, as you can see where the penny had to have shifted to get the exact same look on different parts of the G.
Welcome!! I've only been here less than a year. The opinions and suggested readings, etc which others suggest, will help propel your knowledge and enjoyment.
I also try to look at as many posts on here as possible to use as a learning tool.
Oh, also:
Zinc pennies will drive you nuts - at least for a while! LOL
Between the reflections, zinc rot and bubbles - you'll be seeing all kinds of things which are not errors (at least I STILL do!) I find that rotating the coin to change the angle of lighting and also holding coins on an angle will help you.

Thank you all for the experience and advice. I'll definitely try to get more angle views before posting again.

Again thank you all.
