Hello- I am interested in feedback of a Possible 1982 Philadelphia mint small date copper penny. It weighs at 3.1 grams. Just trying to confirm if this is actually the small date variety.

That is a small date copper but you want to find the small date copper with the "D" mint mark, which is the rare one.

Yes, it is a copper 1982 Small Date Philadelphia cent.

I agree with above. This is the one you want to look for. It's a transitional error. https://www.numismaticnews.net/worl...t-discovered

I agree with small date copper and the fact that the OP may have just found his first one. As many boxes and rolls as I have looked through I only have a dozen or so of the small date copper so I keep them when I find one in great shape. still looking for the elusive small date D copper lol

Good reference coin to keep so you can compare it to any future 82's you come across.

Thanks very much for the information. Much appreciated. I will definitely use this coin as a reference and just get the one with the D.
