snailking1 Pillar of the Community United States 1280 Posts	Posted 11/05/2025 2:21 pm One way to help eliminate doubt: rotate the coin to change the angle of the light hitting the coin. This will often confirm "light induced doubling", as it can appear that the doubling moves location on the coin. Another this I do - hold the coin itself on an angle to your loop, this will also often help confirm if what you're seeing may be real or a mirage. Report this Post to the Staff

Just for fun try taking two pics with the exact same lighting, but rotate the coin. Check if you can see a difference in the coin images.
