I don't see this present on my other quarters that are not 1954-D's. Was this just specific to this year(?)

To add: I pulled this from a mint set (30 coin - p,d,s) and this is also present on the 2nd quarter.

@Brandmeister, yep I checked CoinFacts and the top 3 didn't show it, but when I clicked More Images and scrolled down I saw some that have the same thing on them.

Check an quarter overlay online to see if it might be a die clash which would explain multiple examples.
