I was perusing fee bay & came across this Seated dollar. Normally I wouldn't pay it any mind but I fell for a cardinal sin amongst collectors & was caught oogling the TV Pics  . I needed a motto seated for my typeset & didn't want a basic 1871 / 1872. The sellers photos are not the best & I do not have the coin in hand. But I am down 750 clams on this one & was wondering what others thought? Did I get caught with my hand in the cookie jar or Is this a decent dollar? The seller does have a return policy if necessary...    I've been collecting for a couple years... Favorite Coin's are Standing Liberty quarters, Working on my type set | Coffee, Corvettes, Coins & the CCF what could be better?

Despite the details, I think it is a keeper. $750 OK as well.
My heart would lead my wallet on this one, and at the end of the day, I would still feel reasonably sure, if I made the choice that you did.
It still looks good, and photographs well.

Looks AU details cleaned. Surfaces are unnaturally shiny. I would return it if it were me and wait for one with original surfaces.

The return policy is your friend here. The PCGS TV photos look good, I dunno about the seller's pics.

Price seems appropriate for what it is. Straight grade AU would run you 4x or more for what you paid.So, keep it if you like it.

A straight graded F-12 would be $750 and even though this may be a AU details coin it still has a pleasing look in my opinion. I could live with it.

I am working on a Liberty Seated type set also and my goal is that the coins have a similar look. Never talk yourself into a coin is one of the best pieces of advise I was given years ago. The bottom line is that it is your collection and if you are satisfied that is all that matters.

I agree the TV pics look pretty appealing, but it all depends how it looks in hand. Might have been polished. But some detailed coins look great, and it might be an excellent coin for a type set.
