A lovely coin regardless of technical grade. Other than the few hits to the right of the eagle, overall very few blemishes.

I can't make a call on light circulation versus uncirculated from the photos. There is weakness on the devices, and some of that is clearly strike weakness. There looks like some disturbance of the fields on the reverse, but the obverse fields looks intact.
The TPGs have been consistently inconsistent with gold. Before the start of the pandemic, gold with the contact marks seen on this reverse and through the feathers would have come back detailed. Since the start of the pandemic, I'm seeing more of them straight grade as MS-62s. Assuming that the marks beneath "ME" of AMERICA are contact marks, rather than graffiti (and I think they are contact marks), I could see MS-62 here, though UNC Details wouldn't surprise me.

I know 45 hours is not 48 hours, but I'm not sure I will be up. Please forgive me the premature reveal. 3 hours ain't too bad, right? In hand the luster really pops. It looks great. When I look at my own photos, I don't love the missing detail on the wing and on top of the eagle's head. I do like that the fields overall are pretty clean for a 63. I don't love but the deeper cut on the reverse, but I am guessing that is what makes this coin a 63. Sorry for the glare on the slab. It's MS(63).   Edited by Adam590

Looks like AI and I called it based on the picture the OP posted... Some here judged it by, " it could be a weak strike", " it could be a warned down die". (Good Guesses)  On to the next coin....  |
