I just got an email from the Mint... Mark Your Calendar - the 2026 Omega Penny Auction is Coming.

They do not know their customers. One look at my purchase history will tell them I am not in the market.

The numismatic element is beside the point.

Lot 232 has reached $250K. . .

FWIW: Sets with 2 MS66's + an MS69 gold are creeping up to the $20K range.

Set #212 has an MS67 2025-D. . .current bid is $42K

That's insanity. I don't know if the fingerprints contribute to the 64 grade but they certaily can't help.

They could have made an affordable set for the average collector, akin to a Coin and Chronicles Set or a Coin and Currency Set or even a special little proof set.

Well said @CollegeBarbers. I agree 100% with your sentiment.

I second that!

Two questions:

What is going on in the field to the left of the omega?

Is this a special "micro D" version of the cent? I can hardly see the mint mark.

Even though it may look like one, that's not a D. That coin was struck in Philadelphia. That's likely Brandon Beach's fingerprint.

I missed that earlier in the topic.

I also agree, 100%.

My 2009 Lincoln C&C set could use a friend!
