I found this 1853 Half Cent mixed in with a supposed foreign coin lot I purchased at a local estate sale. Never have seen one before, Lincoln cents are more my speed. Anyway, is there a resource available to look for varieties on these coins? Something like VV or CC etc...that I used for Lincoln cents? Thanks for your assistance.

I noticed the top left point on the one is split. Is this Machine Doubling or something else? I do not know if Machine Doubling is possible with the processes used to make these coins back then. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
