I won this raw 1938-D Buffalo on ebay. It is very well struck with just a couple of tiny, tiny marks on it. I would appreciate hearing what CCF members think about its grade. Thanks!   Paul Bulgerin

AU58. Looks like light rub above the knot in the Indian's braid where it looks like the luster is broken. There is also some chatter in the reverse in the field below the buffalo's beard. The most concerning area is directly below the first A in AMERICA and to the left of the E in EPU. Looks like there may be a metal void, but it could also be dark toning. If you have the coin in hand, let us know what you see. Attractive coin overall.

Looks mint state to me. I'd say MS-63 until better photos.

The surfaces look fine by the A in AMERICA and E PL. The coin has a slight bluish tone there, but there are no issues with the surfaces. I don't see any rub under 10x on the braid.

It also could be weakly struck on the braid of hair. Looks MS to me. I'll say MS-64.

I didn't realize these were your pics. If nothing is being obscured by the photos, I'll go up to MS-64. It's not the strongest strike for a 38-D, otherwise it could be even higher.

I'm definitely not the buff guy...ask my wife lol First blush tells me the reverse die is "fresher"...the obverse looks a little long in the tooth. The surfaces look very nice and natural and I'm sure some toner guys will really * this. MS-63/64 Nice one! smat

I would say MS62, some defect in the word "States"...

the first thing that came to mind as soon as I saw this one was that it looked like it was wiped with something. noticeable on the highest points of the devices on both sides. could it be lighting? yes but I'm going with UNC details (cleaned) maybe FC will chime in on this one but thats what I see.
