I love the look, but it smells fake. Too good looking, but what am I missing on it?

Something about the picture looks off, kind of "air-brushed". Maybe an edited image.

The item description is certainly AI-written.

The seller is not on the FORVM notorious fake-seller list. From the feedback, they don't seem to be very good at properly identifying the items they're selling (selling a Mexico City 8 reales as Lima mint, for example). Perhaps they're using Coinoscope or some similar tool to help them identify the coins they're listing. As a general rule, if they're not good at identifying, they're probably also not good at telling if it's counterfeit or not.

All that being said, it's probably genuine, but perhaps doesn't look like what it looks like in the picture. I'd generally stay away from ancient coins on ebay, and wouldn't make an exception for this one.

This has become very common, and clearly communicates that the seller doesn't care enough about the item to put in a modicum of effort.

The seller also seems to focus on modern coins and cards. He's obviously not an expert in ancients, and the danger with these people is they often don't care. They're just buying for x and selling for x+y, and authenticity is in the eye of the beholder and of no concern to them. (Which, to be fair, is kind of Ebay's stance as well...)

@new, consider migrating away from ebay and popping over to vcoins for your coin purchases. I'm seeing a few Geta Denarii there that are legit:

Hi, I have a few. I just like this one specifically. Just seeing if this is real?
