I can't get the VAMWorld Forum site to load, so posting here as I've seen past threads from members on here that have had this coin.

This coin looks different than other 1921 Morgans so I started to research proof like, special strikes, etc. The Zerbe Special Strike references online got me looking further. I saw this old thread: https://www.vamworld.com/forum/view...26837#p26837

The poster mentioned he was able to match everything with the exception of the polish lines around the letters and stars and the other posters concluded it was VAM-1AG. This is where it gets fuzzy for me. My coin doesn't appear to have the polish lines around the stars and the scratch over U in UNUM is very faint, but the other makers seem to be there. Or, in the alternative, this is a different VAM entirely. Pics below. Any help would be appreciated.

For a 1921 Zerbe special strike coin you should be looking for sharp square denticles and very reflective fields. There should be die lines diagonal from the rim to 'E&S' in states.

The denticles here are not sharp or square - I think I'm seeing MD on this coin, but then I'm not all that familiar with the Morgan Vams either.

However I'm thinking that this may not be the Special strike.

Dearborn, thanks for the reply. Here is one posted on this board some years back: https://goccf.com/t/41189#1545996 that show MD as well.

If I'm not mistaken, I believe only the Chapman Proofs denticles look more like regular proof coins, but I could be mistaken.

This is not a proof.
